In a goodwill message to the good people of OHANIVO on the 2026 Iri Ji festival, the PDP Governorship candidate hinted that the "New Yam Festival is yet another great initiative aimed at uniting our people as people with common destiny, common prosperity and common future."
The message read: "It is my pleasure to share and be part of the celebration of bountiful harvest with my people, the great farmers and people of OHANIVO.
"Iri Ji, as an age old cultural festival in Igboland, is not just a moment of winning and dinning, but more of a moment of appreciation, a moment of gratitude and a moment of reflection; reflection on hard work, reflection on the gift of being patient and reflection on the adage- "aka aja aja, na ebute onu nmanu nmanu" which teaches us patience in hard work.
"As OHANIVO celebrates today, I heartily join my people to show gratitude and thanks to God for the bountiful harvest we have recorded in this season.
"I also use this opportunity to pray and assure our people that we shall reap more bountiful harvests in the years to come.
"We are determined to support agricultural revolution to create opportunities for our farmers and families to propser and reap great benefits, even as we preserve our beautiful culture of gratitude.
