The commissioner made this known on Monday when he led the engineers of his Ministry on inspection of the projects site to ascertain the quality and level of work done and to chart a way forward in line with the specified time and standard. He called on the contractors handling the projects to expedite action to ensure that nothing stops the completion of the projects at the appointed time, adding that the Ministry of Works will do everything necessary in keeping to the State Government part of the contract agreement to assist the contractors do the needful, ensuring standard and on time delivery. "The project is a massive one and we must achieve our aim. You know that much fund had been sunk into this project and we cannot relent in our statutory efforts to get things done and done correctly. "All we need now is a little push and the ancillary work on the project will be completed by December this year. Infact, the major critical aspect of the work has been done and with a little push, we will be good to go" The Commissioner stated.
Engr. Mbam pointed out that the project is so important to the State Governor, Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru such that he can stop at nothing to make sure that it is completed at the stipulated time. Adding that the Governor cannot be distracted by the frivolous insinuations of political opponents who uses the social media space to mislead the public. He commended the engineers for their professional inputs to compliment government efforts to provide good governance to the people.
The Commissioner for Works, Engr. Stanley Lebechi Mbam has reiterated the State Government determination to maintain excellent service delivery, complete the VANCO flyover and tunnel projects with standard specification and deliver on mandate.
