Just In; Governor Nwifuru effects Major Cabinet Reshuffle

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State on Monday effected what could be termed, a major cabinet reshuffle in his three years on the saddle as Governor of the state.

Briefing journalist after brief State Executive Council meeting held at the state executive council chamber, new Government House, Abakaliki, the Commissioner for information and state orientation, Barr. Ikeuwa Omebe, who incidentally retained his position, told journalist that the reshuffle was a normal government tradition and does  not mean non performance but a way of rejigging the cabinet for better performance and better service the state.

According to the Commissioner for information, the serving commissioners involved in the cabinet reshuffle are Hon. Chidi Onyia, who until the reshufflement served as commissioner for of Solid minerals is deployed to the Ministry of Youth & Sports Development.
Dr. (Mrs) Ngozi Obichukwu , commissioner for Aviation technology, now deployed to serve a commissioner for Special Project
Prof. Nwogo Obasi Ajuka, commissioner for market development now to serve as commissioner for Skill Acquisition,
Hon. Okwu Oko Udu, commissioner ySkill Acquisition, now moved to ministry of Market Development. Others are Hon. Magnus Chinedu. Nkah, Commissioner for water resources now to serve as commissioner for Solid minerals, 
Hon. Richard Ugo Idike is moved from the ministry of sports and youths development to ministry Capital City Development, while 
Hon. Sunday Elechi Inyima and Hon. Victor Chukwu - Water deployed from 
- Project Monitoring
Ministry of Capital City Development to project monitoring and Environment to  Water Resources respectively.

The Commissioner revealed that the reshufflement take immediate effect as taking and handing over is expected to be concluded before close of work on Tuesday, 30th June, 2026.

Chief Ikeuwa Omebeh however announced that Governor Nwifuru earlier on, sweared-in of two (2) Honourable Commissioners designates and a Special Assistant (SA).
The Commissioners are Prof. Omari Omaka SAN who was assigned to serve as  Commissioner for Tertiary Education and Hon. Sylvester Nwenugwu Nwite who is now to serve as Commisioner for Environment, and  Hon. Njoku Onyekachi Felix  - SA on Youth Mobilzation

Governor Nwifuru congratulated the new appointees and urged them to be up and doing especially in the consolidation of the gains already achieved by the present administration under the Peoples Charter of Needs.
