Ebonyi State Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Barr Ikeuwa Omebe has announced that all arrangements have been made for the official endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu second term bid by Ebonyi State Government.
The Commissioner announced this in a press briefing in Abakaliki ahead of the June 15 rally at the Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium.
according to him, the endorsement spearheaded by Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the people of Ebonyi, was in recognition of Tinubu’s performance over the past three years.
He noted that Ebonyi had secured several strategic federal appointments, including the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, and other top positions in key federal agencies and commissions.
The commissioner also highlighted federal interventions in the state, including agricultural grants for women and youths, cash transfers to 35,000 beneficiaries, empowerment programmes for youths and amnesty beneficiaries, and the ongoing Renewed Hope Housing Estate in Ezza South Local Government Area.
According to him, over 2,000 Ebonyi residents benefitted from the Labour-Intensive Public Works Programme, while 1,500 youths received N1 million grants under the Renewed Hope Youth Agricultural Development Programme.
On security, Omebeh described Ebonyi as one of Nigeria’s safest states, noting that Governor Nwifuru recently inaugurated 31 operational security vehicles and surveillance drones to strengthen security operations.
He also dismissed concerns over the sustainability of the state’s free education policy, revealing that about 1,400 Ebonyi indigenes are currently pursuing postgraduate studies in Nigeria and the United Kingdom under government sponsorship.
Omebeh urged Ebonyi people to attend the June 15 endorsement rally, describing it as a historic event in support of President Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda.
