The 2026 Oke-Aku Ezza festival on Tuesday, turned political as the Candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC) for Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone, Chief Ugo Magnus called on all Ezza people to support his political ambition and vote for him, come 2027 general election.
Chief Ugo Magnus promised a youth centered representation if elected to represent Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone as Senator. He revealed that his foundation has approved a fully founded University scholarship for the youths of Ebonyi State, noting that the scholarship is for uninterrupted four years University program.
He called on the youths to utilize the opportunity and earn their University degrees as his foundation has already approved 200 students to benefit from the scholarship program.
The Oke-Aku which was celebrated at Okpoku Ezekuna, the ancestoral home of Ezza people, was attended by the business elite of Ezza extraction led by Chief Chibuike Orogwu popularly known as (Babyoku). Among Ezza elite in attendance included; Ndubuisi Nwokwu (Ndu more) Monday Oke, (Emebeife Ego) Chief Chukwuma Otubelu (herd foam) among others called for unity and doneness in Ezza Nation.
There were cultural display, exchange of gifts, masquerade, and good will from Ezza people in other local government areas and in diaspora.
The 2026 Oke Aku festival was celebrated only by the business elite without the political class stakeholders from Ezza.
