Senator Nwebonyi Promises More Dividends Of Democracy

The Deputy Chief of the Senate and Senator representing Ebonyi North Senatorial Zone, Distinguished Senator Peter Onyekachi Nwebonyi, has promised to provide more dividends of democracy to the people of the zone.

Senator Nwebonyi disclosed this while addressing newsmen shortly after Governor Francis Nwifuru and his constituents unanimously okayed him for a second tenure because of his effective and quality representation at the Senate in Abakaliki, the state capital.

The lawmaker, who commended Governor Nwifuru and the people of Ebonyi zone for giving him another opportunity to represent them at the Red Chamber, promised to redouble his efforts towards making them happy through the provision of adequate social amenities, building of schools, roads, bridges, among others.

“I thank Governor Nwifuru, who is the supreme leader of APC in Ebonyi State, and my constituents for supporting me to go for a second tenure. We will ensure APC in Ebonyi State remains a formidable and united party and can speak with one voice. You heard when it was asked whether I have done anything wrong or used my position to oppress anybody, and they echoed no.”

“I want to promise the people of Ebonyi North Zone that I will continue to promote peace. I will continue to attract more dividends of democracy to our people by way of constructing more roads, more schools, empowering more youths, helping our students, and building houses for the indigent. These and others I will continue to do.”

“I will also continue to do my primary assignment, which is lawmaking, and to oversee the executive. You can see they have noticed my presence on the floor of the Senate, and I promise I will continue to do those things that have made you renew this mandate.”

The senator urged APC members to continue to uphold the virtue of internal democracy that the party is known for in order to record huge success in the 2027 general elections.

“APC is a party that gives everybody equal opportunity to contest, and that was what just played out today,” he concluded
