Ogah Emerges APC HoR Candidate For Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency

The Member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Comrade Chinedu Ogah, has emerged as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency following his victory  at the party’s primary election conducted across the 31 electoral wards that make up the constituency.

Declaring the result at Agubia Ikwo Primary School, the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Chief Paul Nwogha, announced that Comrade Ogah secured a total of 34,780 votes in the primary election.

According to him, the lawmaker polled 15,637 votes from the eleven wards in Ezza South Local Government Area and 19,143 votes from the twenty wards in Ikwo Local Government Area, thereby emerging victorious and duly elected as the APC candidate for the Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency in the forthcoming 2027 House of Representatives election.

In his remarks, Comrade Chinedu Ogah expressed profound appreciation to Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for facilitating a peaceful and credible primary election process.

He also appreciated the Wife of the Governor, Chief Mrs. Mary-Maudline Uzoamaka Nwifuru, for her support, and extended gratitude to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the enabling political environment within the party.

The federal lawmaker further thanked party stakeholders, leaders, supporters, and voters across Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency for the confidence reposed in him, assuring them that he would continue to justify their trust through effective representation and people-oriented leadership.

Comrade Ogah reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the developmental vision of Governor Nwifuru and expressed optimism that the people of Ikwo would reciprocate the Governor’s support by delivering overwhelming votes in the 2027 governorship election.

He also appreciated his wife and women across the constituency for their unwavering support, pledging not to disappoint them.

The lawmaker further commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its diligence and professionalism in observing the process, while also appreciating security agencies for maintaining peace and order throughout the exercise.

Ogah hailed the consensus arrangement of the party describing it as the best decision from the party. Ogah recall the crises that greeted previous primaries with particular reference to 2019 primaries where lives were lost and vehicles, motorcycles and other valuable properties destroyed.

Commenting on the outcome of the exercise, the Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Chief Moses Ije Odunwa, congratulated Comrade Chinedu Ogah on his victory, describing it as well-deserved and reflective of the confidence reposed in him by party members across the constituency.

The Speaker also commended the Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for providing exemplary leadership that ensured the conduct of peaceful, transparent, and hitch-free party primaries across the State.

He noted that the prevailing peace and political stability in Ebonyi State are attributable to the Governor’s inclusive leadership and commitment to democratic values.

The Executive Chairman Ikwo Local Government Area Barr. Sunday attributed the peaceful and violent free exercise to the consus arrangement of party, calling on the party to institutionalize it for peace and unity of the party and the people.

Recall that Rt. Hon. Chinedum Ogah was earlier adopted by the party as sole aspirant for Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency, a decision that was welcomed by the entire constituency hence, nobody contested the primary with him.
