Ebonyi State Governor, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has urged Muslim Ummahs and devotees of Prophet Mohammad to as a matter of moral urgency, pray to Allah for "peace, unity, love and social cohesion among all Nigerians.
In the spirit of Eidel Kabir, the Governor acknowledged that the plethora of challenges facing the country can be tackled with supplications and heartfelt contritions to Allah.
"The truth is that sacred occasions, events and seasons like this offer us not only the opportunity, but rare privilege to seek spiritual solutions to the plethora of physical challenges greeting and staring starkly at us as a nation.
"And Eidel Kabir is such an opportunity graciously granted to us to seek Allah's face and intervention", he asserts.
While insisting that the Kabir season should be leveraged by Muslim Ummahs in Nigeria's best interest, the Governor observed that
"Peace, unity and love are the tripartite solutions to our pluralistic questions.
"And so as we celebrate this sacred event, I urge our muslim brothers and sisters to pray for peace across the country, unity in pursuit of a united political front and love for one another to ensure social cohesion".
Governor Nwifuru also assured of sustained collaboration with with different religious denomination to strengthen interfaith dialogues which is critical in state building.
"As government, we will continue to partner religious organizations to deliver good governance as enshrined in the People's Charter of Needs Agenda".
