The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expelled its factional National Chairman, Nafiu Bala Gombe, over allegations of anti-party activities.
Also affected by the party’s disciplinary action is a member of the House of Representatives, Leke Abejide, alongside other unnamed individuals.
The decision was reached at the ongoing ADC National Convention in Abuja, where a motion for their expulsion was moved and overwhelmingly adopted by delegates.
Gombe has been embroiled in a leadership tussle within the party and is currently in court, laying claim to the position of the authentic National Chairman.
His actions reportedly contributed to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) withdrawing recognition of the Senator David Mark-led leadership of the ADC.
Further details are expected to emerge as the situation develops.
