Works Minister, Sen. David Umahi has said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration has favoured south east more than previous administrations in the country.
Umahi said the projects the President has executed and still executing in the zone are very visible, tangible and durable.
He argued that throughout his eight years as governor, four years as deputy governor and four years as party chairman, no administration has executed the number of projects Tinubu has executed in south east.
He stated this in Awka, Anambra State at the weekend while inspecting ongoing Onitsha/Enugu expressway which has gone advanced stage.
He opined that no amount of hate speech or criticisms can assuage the great work the President has done for the people of South East.
"To the South East people, when I went on this road driving myself, I have every reason to be bolder and to tell our people boldly including those that may not be seeing, that they can use torchlight and see because the President has done quite a lot for us
"There is no amount of hate speech or darkening counsel without knowledge will assuage for all the great work the President has done for us.
'Before, I was a governor, there was no single federal government project throughout my eight years as governor, throughout my four years as deputy governor, throughout my four years as party chairman.
"And so, now that we are having it, we are not the last. Before, we were not included. Today, we are not the last among six geopolitical zones. We may not be the first but the quality of what Mr. President is doing, is a quality that will continue to speak for him", he said.
Umahi declared that the people of the zone will vote for the President in next year's presidential election and urged them to publicize his good works for them on the social media the way they were doing against deplorable roads in the zone before Tinubu took over the mantle of leadership of the country.
"We are South East people, we stand with the President, we are praying for him, supporting him and appreciating him
"When this road was terrible, the south east people were on social media talking all kinds of things. Now the road is good, we want you to go to the social media and also thank Mr. President and be grateful to God.
"South East is on the rise and we are grateful to Mr. President. We will all vote for him. We are not saying go and see what I have done, what the President has done is visible, it is tangible, we are seeing it, we are being counted and we will never go back again but we need to be wise", he stated.
