"My heart is deeply troubled as I reflect on the painful and shocking killing of our father and traditional ruler, His Royal Highness Ezeogo Chief Francis Igwe of Ndufu-Alike Ikwo.
"This is not just sad news. It is a wound in the heart of Ikwo land.
"In our tradition, a traditional ruler is more than a leader. He is the symbol of our ancestors, the custodian of our culture, and the father of the community. To abduct such a man and take his life in such a brutal manner is an act that our conscience as a people must never accept.
"As a son of Enyim Agalagu Ikwo, and speaking on behalf of the people of Enyim Agalagu and my entire family, I strongly condemn this wicked and senseless act.
"What has happened is not only an attack on a respected monarch; it is an insult to the dignity of our people and the sacred institution of traditional authority in our land.
"Those who committed this evil must know that they have not only taken a life, they have provoked the pain and anger of an entire people who hold their traditions and leaders in the highest esteem.
"At this time, I call on the security agencies and all relevant authorities to act decisively and ensure that everyone involved in this heinous crime is identified and brought to justice. Our communities must not become places where criminals feel emboldened to shed innocent blood and desecrate the institutions that bind us together.
"To the Igwe family, the people of Ndufu-Alike, and the entire Ikwo nation, I share in your grief. I particularly extend my heartfelt condolences to Dr. Kelechi Igwe, former Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State, and the entire family.
May the Almighty God give the family the strength to bear this painful loss.
"And may the soul of our father, Ezeogo Chief Francis Igwe, find eternal rest among the ancestors.
"May peace return to our land, and may such darkness never again visit Ikwo".
