The slain monarch, Francis Igwe is the father of the immediate past Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief Barr Kelechi Igwe Ph.D. He was abducted and later murdered gruesomely.

"We came as a party to give you strength. Be strong. The party stands by the position and decision of the Governor who doesn't condone evil. What is evil is evil, and all of us must rise in condemnation of this heinous act.
"The perpetrators must suffer for this, for the Bible says; no sinner shall go unpunished. The greatest sin is to take away life you didn't know what it took God to plant. Whoever that is involved in this evil must be fished out and punished duly".
Chief Emegha further urged members of the public to remain calm as security agencies carry out thorough investigation into the matter.
