2027: Ebonyi People Will Pay Gov. Nwifuru Back With Votes - Barr. Chika Igboke Assures

By Celestine okeh,

In the build-up to 2027 general election, the coordinator of Imoha Development Center, Ezza North Local Government Area, Barr. Chika Igboke, said Ebonyi people are determined to re-elect the state Governor, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, stating that the governor has delivered on his People's charter of needs agenda in the state.

Barr. Igboke, who also doubles as the National Secretary,  Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru Youth Movement (FON) emphasized that the Governor's lofty achievements in the areas of Education, Human capital development, infrastructure among other areas, have made his re-election bid a walk over.

In a media pally with journalist in Abakaliki, Barr. Chika Igboke highlighted some of the governor's developmental strides since inception of office such as foreign scholarships to Ebonyi students from masters to PhD. levels, empowerment of youths running into Billions of naira cumulatively, to enable them leave street hocking and engage in meaningful businesses. Igboke noted further that the Governor has demonstrated strong will in expanding the infrastructure facelift of the state not only at the city center, but also at the rural areas, through the construction of 2km roads in all communities across the state, among other infrastructural interventions.
"‎First of all, let me use this medium to thank my dear boss and the father of the state, our leader, His Excellency, Right Honourable Builder Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for the developmental strides that he has been able to give to Ebonyi people since his assumption of office. I must confess that he has delivered on a mandate ‎Ebonyi people bestowed on him as the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State. To start with, he has been able to do so much well in terms of human capital development. The scholarship he has awarded to the young people of Ebonyi State to study abroad has given a very bright future for our people, ‎and also in terms of other human empowerment, there was a time he empowered our youth with the sum of 2 million Naira, especially those on the streets. 3 million Naira, 5 million Naira, it was categorized. And I know, that program has been able to take so many persons out of the streets where they use to hock.
"‎He has also been able to deliver in the area of infrastructure. He has constructed roads almost in every community across the state, two-kilometer roads, which all of us are living witnesses. For instance, there is none of us here that doesn't come from a community, and I know in each of the communities that he has embarked on construction of two-kilometer roads and houses for our traditional rulers,
‎and so many other projects. He has done so much well in area of workers welfare. He is the only governor that came in and decided to pay the gratuity  of workers and also offset all the pensions owed to the workers in the state since 1996 that the state was created till date. I must tell you, our governor has delivered on the People's charter of needs agenda of his administration in the  state".

As Coordinator of Imoha Development Center, Barr. Igboke said, he has also  replicated what the governor is doing in the state to his development center.

"Coming to our own side, we are also doing our best to ensure that the cardinal point of this administration that is anchored on the people's charter of needs is also replicated in our own jurisdiction as the coordinators in our various development centers. For me, I ‎have been able to also put on ground some projects, some life-touching projects for our people. We have been able to also construct bridges and also sink some bone holes. For instance, I know I've been able to put up about seven motorized bone holes,  about eleven hand pump boreholes. We have repaired up to 30 something bone holes. So, we have been able to do in our own little way to support the administration in the state, which I know has delivered so much. And we are also trying to replicate same. We have also been able to put some persons on scholarship, ‎pay their full school fees, both those in their master's level and PhD level.

"I must say that cultism is very prevalent in our society because some of our youths who doesn't understand the indepth of the meaning of somebody belonging to cult.

"Immediately I came into office, I had synergy with other development center coordinators, even those from Ezza South and created a good rapor to tackle it because we've seen that it is an age-long within Ezza area especially, within Onueke urban. We moved to rural areas, reorent them that cultism is not something someone can indulge in, as the disadvantage is enormous.

"For one to achieve or become what he wants to be, must stay away from cult and other crimes. Cultism is a very serious crime that the state doesn't joke with. We try to let our youths know the consequences of Indulging In Cultism and I know, many of them are going out of it. That's how we have been able to curb it and you no longer hear that this one is shot or killed here or there.

"In my community, the Governor is constructing Akadoro bridge for us, and I visits the site almost on weekly basis to ensure that contractors are doing the right thing. I would urge every appointee of Government especially, at the local government level to ensure that any contractor that is not doing the work based on specifications should be reported to the appropriate authority so that adequate sanctions is meted on the defaulting contractor.

"So we are doing our best to ensure that we complement the efforts of our dear governor, our leader, who is doing very, very well for our people".
"As National Secretary of FON Youth movement, ‎Barr. Igboke assured  that the Movement which is a pet project of the Governor, will galvanize support across all political wards of the state, describing the Movement as formidable Youth group that comprises all the youths of Ebonyi and had been in existence before the Governor came onboard. The Movement is doing a lot to mobilize Ebonyi people especially the Youths, we have been able to visit the 13 Local Government during the voters registration to sensitize our people, tell them what the governor has done in all the communities and Local Government Areas across the state. We mobilize them register for the permanent voters cards and we have educated the people on the need to register so that they will vote and also be voted for. We are doing a lot to ensure we pay our leader, the Governor of the state back come 2027 with our votes because he has done a lot for us, the Ebonyians. He made youths the fulcrum of his administration, almost 90% of his administration are youths, this is not the we say that youths are leaders of tomorrow, in Ebonyi, our tomorrow is here courtesy of our governor, and we will pay him back with our votes come 2027.

Igboke who is equally the coordinator of City Boy Movement in Ezza North Local Government Area, narrated that City Boy Movement is one of the youth organ that's championing the reelection of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu, governor Nwifuru and other APC Candidates that will emerge when the primaries will be conducted and not only for the President. He called on the people to be patient with the president noting that the current hardship noticable in country is not peculiar to Nigeria alone, but a global issue orchestrated by the crises in middle East and other new policies of government, which according to him, will soon be addressed.

"City Boy Movement is a movement that was formed by the son of President, Seyi Tinubu, and movement just started. The hardship we may be talking about is not only peculiar to Nigeria. It is a global issue and not the fault of Mr President. Fuel is a major contributor to the issue. The conflict in the middle East with other world powers is the major cause of the hike in oil prize because Iran is a major global oil producer. The hardship we are facing may be due to policies government is trying to put on ground because each time there's a shift in any sector of the economy, there's every tendency that it is going to shake the foundation. Am sure, this is going to happen for short while and after which, every thing is going to stabilize. We're calling on everybody to have patient with Mr President, he is doing a lot. For instance, in terms of infrastructure development, we are seeing it south East here. We encourage everyone to be patient with him, because if he finishes his eight year tenure things will get better. For instance, the food price is coming down and it an assurance that very soon everything will stabilize for the good of the people".
