Unique Friends Club Embarks on School Outreach, Offers Scholarship to 25 Students in Alike Ikwo

A Social club registered in Nigeria by Corporate Affairs Commission and operates in Ebonyi State; Unique Friends Club of Alike has again embarked on rural public schools outreach to sensitize pupils and students on importance of education, distribute educational materials and offer scholarship to deserving pupils and students.

As part of the noble gesture, the club on 29th January, 2026 embarked on similar exercise where they sensitized pupils in four public schools and offered scholarship to twenty five of the pupils selected across public schools in Alike Ikwo community. The schools visited by the Club for the gesture include; Community Primary School Enyim Agelegu Ndufu Alike, Community Primary School Noyo, Community Central School Idembia Enyibichiri and Central School Echalike.

Speaking at the end of the programme which featured sensitization and free registration of common entrance examination for primary six pupils who scaled through the club's quiz, the Chairman of Unique friends Club Education Foundation, Barr. Emmanuel Egwu Obiahu, said the exercise is not only annual, but regular programme of the club aimed at giving back to the society.

"September 2025 was not only historical but marked the beginning of epoch making event in the history of UNIQUE FRIENDS CLUB OF ALIKE wherein we embarked on distribution of over 1000 back to school writing materials to wit: Exercise books, chalk, pen and pencil and organizing a quiz competition where 5 best pupils s were selected for Common entrance scholarship.

"Yesterday, in a bid to fulfill our promise, we toured that same school to register them directly for their common entrance by handing over to them a token which covered their registration and other logistics.

"The first batch of schools toured as at present are C.P.S AGALEGU NDUFU ALIKE, C.P.S NOYO, C.C.S IDEMBIA ENYIBICHIRI & C.P.S ECHIALIKE wherein a total number of 25 students was duely registered.

"We want to thank all members of UNIQUE FRIENDS CLUB, Our able active Patrons Chief Emeka Louis Nwome (IKEOHA OHA 1 OF ALIKE) and Chief Obasi Nicholas (Ononando 1) whose unflinching support and financial contributions made us go far beyond our initial budgets.

"We thank the school for granting us the privilege of using those pupils to give back to the society our own little way. Let me thank my committee members and all those who facilitated the movement. May God bless you all. It is not over because we shall go again for the next batch," he concluded.

Also speaking, the Pioneer President of Unique friends Club who was among the team; Unique Israel Ekene Mbam thanked the leadership and members of the club for sustaining his administration's vision of giving back to the society through education support programme.

"Am grateful to God for his wisdom and to our current Executive, members and patrons for sustaining the vision we had while in office as the president of Unique friends Club. With the way we are going, soon we shall revive teaching and learning in our communities and set positive pace for other organisations.

"My advise to the beneficiaries is to take their studies very seriously so that they can continue to enjoy the scholarship even after their current levels. To others who could not benefit in this batch, they should study hard so that they can be part of the next stage of the programme. To our club, let's keep the flag higher, because posterity will always remember us for the best."

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to journalists, including Nwuguru Udochukwu, Odo Chetachi, Mbam Marvelous from CPS Agelegu Ndufu Alike, Nwogbaga Isaiah,  Onele Favour, Nwigboji Onyedikachi  from CPS Noyo as well as Ekoyo Praise , Ogboji Emmanuella, Chigbo Emmanuel from CCS Enyibichiri, Ezinne Mission,  Ezinne Marvellous and Nwonu Destiny from CS Echalike thanked Unique friends Club for giving them hope and pledged to take their studies more seriously.
