The gesture were part of the programmer's "Fellows Development Initiative".

Speaking at the handing over ceremony of the projects held at the respective schools, the Ebonyi State focal person of NJFP, Mr. Amoke Victor Chukwuemeka explained that the gesture was a way of giving back to the society.

"The Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme (NJFP) exists to support graduates as they navigate complex labour markets to access meaningful work and employment after they graduate. It serves as a bridge connecting fresh graduates to work opportunities that exist within public and private sector entities.

"The fellows Development Initiative is where the fellows contribute and embark on any project that will be beneficial to the society. It is a way of giving back to their communities from the stipends they are paid by the programme sponsors," he explained.

In an interview with journalists, the Ebonyi State Coordinator of the NJFP fellows, Ms Okoloana Chiamaka Mirian, thanked European Union for providing them with the platform to work in an organisation for one year where they are paid reasonable stipends at the end of each month. She noted that the programme has afforded them the opportunity to gain more working experience, adding that the fellows Development Initiative is their little ways of giving back to their host communities.

"Nkaliki Primary School Abakaliki is one of the oldest Schools in the State, so we decided to renovate it and give it a new look. In community Primary School Amidu Ezza South, we discovered that they do not have enough school desk and we decided to donate some desk for the pupils.

"We also plan to donate white board to a school in Edda LGA in Ebonyi South zone. The projects are sponsored through contributions from the money we are paid by European Union who are the sponsors of the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows programme"

In their responses, the headmistress of Nkaliki Primary School, Mrs. Chukwu Comfort and the Headmaster of Community Primary School Amudo thanked the European Union sponsored Nigeria Jubilee Fellows for choosing their schools for the project. They noted that the projects has further improved the image of their school and will encourage the pupils to be more serious with their studies.

Some of the pupils including Master Anyigor Wisdom, Ugwumba Chiamaka and Okoro Oluebube expressed joy for the impact the projects has brought to their schools. They prayed God to bless the fellows and their sponsors.
