Jubilation enveloped the Enyim Agalegu country home of the 1st Vice Chairman of the people's Democratic Party PDP, Ebonyi Central, Hon. Chief Kevin Tobias Chukwu, the Ochiri Ozua 1 of Amagu Ikwo, on Sunday, as he celebrated Christmas and New for party Executives in Ikwo Local Government Area.
Recall that Chief Kevin Chukkwu, has remained resolute with PDP , using his hard earned resource to fund and sustain the party'' structure in the area when others left, in search of political gains.
Speaking with the party Executives during the event, Chief Kevin Chukwu commended the Executives for their loyalty and steadfast with him and the PDP, despite all odds, assuring them that their loyalty will be reward in due time.
Chukwu revealed that he was moved to go extra mile in celebrating Christmas for them due to the love, loyalty and steadfast they have displayed all these while, assuring them that he will never betray them.
"First of all, I believe in PDP.
And you people have shown me so much support. I don't have any other reason other than to do Christmas for you. And I'm so glad you appreciate nothing into something. I thank God so much for the kind of love and benevolence that I was shown this afternoon".
He however, told them that should there be need for any move, he will certainly discuss with them before any decision is taken.
"I'm still in PDP of course and as you can see I just did Christmas for PDP but we have issues in PDP already which we are trying to strangulate and bring down the corner so that we can have a leeway. If there's anything that will make us relinquish PDP in Ikwo, I will still call you, if you agree we go, if you say no, then we remain. But I want you to keep hope alive." , Chukwu hinted.
The PDP Chieftain urged them to remain strong and resolute. "My message to you my people is for us to be strong as an opposition. Opposition is real. It has to be real in democracy. It's part of the rudiments of democracy, and without opposition, democracy cannot thrive, because it's the opposition that makes even the government in power to sit up and do the
things that they ought to do and not the other way around", he concluded..
The Chairman of PDP in Ikwo Local Government Area, Mr Stephen Mbam espressed joy over the show of love and assured him of the continued support and loyalty of the leadership of PDP in Ikwo. "We are grateful for this show of love. Nobody have ever remembered us. You are the only person that have always been with us and today, you decided to celebrate Christmas for us, we're very happy and we assume you that wherever go we will go with you. You have been out leader and you remain our leader. Thank you so much sir," Mbam stated
Some of party Executive that spoke during the event include,, Ogbunte Elizabeth, women coordinator in Ekawoke ward, Henry Sunday Chukwu, PDP secretary Ndiegu Amagu ward 1, Chukwudi Ulebe, from Ekpomaka ward and Ikwo PDP youth leader, among others thanked God for giving them such a leader as Chief Kevin Chukwu and pledged their unflinching support and loyalty to him.
PDP Chieftain, Chief Kevin Chukwu distributed bags of rice donated cash to the party Executive,. There was enough to eat and assorted drinks to spice up the event.
