The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and governors elected on the party’s platform are holding a closed-door meeting in Abuja amid intensified consultations ahead of the party’s national convention scheduled for March.
The meeting, taking place at the Imo State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, is being led by the Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, alongside the party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda.
The engagement follows the unveiling last year of the APC’s timetable for its 2026 ward, local government, state and zonal congresses, which are expected to culminate in the national convention.
Governors in attendance include Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang; Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani; Kebbi State Governor Mohammed Idris; Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru; Sokoto State Governor Ahmad Aliyu; Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo; Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia; Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas; Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno; Ondo State Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa; and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, among others.
Party sources said deliberations are expected to focus on the ongoing electronic registration exercise, preparations for ward and local government congresses, as well as other critical national and party matters.
