Ebonyi state Government has announced plans to establish state owned cement factory as part of efforts to industrialize the state .
Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru announced this during the formal presentation of the 2026 budget proposal to the citizens for their inputs.
The Governor praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his bold economic and social reforms in the country.
According to him, various sectors of the economy witnessed astronomical growth given the Presidential bold reforms.
"What was impossible is now possible. Without the delivery of subsidy, our budget wouldn’t jump from N89 billion to over N800 billion. That is the evidence and benefit of the removal of fuel subsidy,”
Governor Nwifuru explained that the far-reaching impacts of the Tinubu's subsidy removal informed the christening of the budget as of "Hope and Actualisation".
He explained that the 2026 budget was designed to ensure completion of on going projects and human capital development.
He called for collaborative support from Nigerians especially the opposition parties to Presidential Renewed Hope Agenda and his People's Charter of Needs Agenda to continue delivering on their mandates.
While dispelling fears and rumours of lethargy in project execution, he maintained that all projects are time bound, assuring that contractors will leverage the dry season period to complete all ongoing projects.
Earlier in their separate speeches, representatives of traditional rulers council, Women Societies, elders council, and Students' bodies lauded the Governor for incorporating deserving sectors in the 2026 budgets.
