Speaking during the enrollment of hundreds of pregnant mothers into the Ebonyi State Health Insurance program, a flagship initiative of the Governor's wife, Mrs. Uduma Nwachi praised Her Excellency's remarkable dedication, describing her as a beacon of hope and a mother figure with exemplary programs tailored towards the holistic development of Ebonyi women and children.
The Chairperson noted that access to quality medical care during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum can be challenging, but the Governor's wife's initiative has been a game-changer, providing a lifeline to countless families. She referred to Her Excellency as the "Mother Theresa of our time," highlighting the profound impact of her kindness and generosity on the lives of Afikpo women.
Earlier in a remark, the Executive Secretary of Ebonyi State Health Insurance Agency, EBSHIA, Dr. Divine Igwe, revealed that the agency aimed to provide access to free ante-natal, delivery, and post-natal care to pregnant women, as part of the Governor's wife's initiative to enroll 10,000 pregnant women into the health insurance program.
Stakeholders including the traditional ruler of Afikpo Autonomous Community,HRH Ezeogo Patrick Oko Agha; the majority leader of Afikpo Legislative Council & Councilor of Unwana Ward B,Hon(Mrs) Esther Agha; the Secretary of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Afikpo LGA Chapter, Apostle Godwin Nnachi Enwo; Bishop Ken O. Daniels and Deaconess Linda Ibe all commended the Governor's wife for her kindness, noting that the initiative will significantly improve the health and well-being of mothers and children in the state.
