The Executive Chairman of Ikwo LGA, Barrister Sunday Nwankwo, on Monday recieved a pro- Government Youth group, the Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru (FON) Youth Movement at the Council Headquarters, Onuebonyi Echara, Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State
The FON Youth Movement, under the leadership of Comrade Chinedu Emerike, National President and Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Mobilization, visited the local government to sensitize voters for the ongoing INEC voter registration and to inaugurate Ikwo Local Government Chapter ward Executives of FON.
In his remarks, the Executive Chairman of Ikwo LGA, Barr Sunday Basil Nwankwo, outlined several initiatives his administration has implemented to enhance the ongoing voter registration exercise by INEC in Ikwo, including: providing daily bus services to transport individuals from various wards to the local government headquarters for registration, mobilizing registration facilitators, and supporting INEC in providing necessary facilities for efficient registration.
The Council Chairman reaffirmed that upon completion of the registration process, Ikwo LGA will attain the highest number of voter registrations. He commended the State Governor, Rt Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for his exemplary leadership and assured him that Ikwo LGA will secure the top position in the state during the 2027 general election, stating "2027 is the time to reciprocate his good gestures towards Ikwo people".
Responding, Comrade Chinedu Emerike, the National President of FON Youth Movement and Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of the State on Youth Mobilization, urged Ikwo people who have attained voting age and those who have misplaced their voter's card to capitalize on the ongoing voter's registration exercise.
The Coordinator, FON Youth Movement Ikwo LGA Chapter, and Special Assistant to the Governor on Internal Security, Hon. Desmond Edeke, assured the parent body of Ikwo youths of enduring and massive support for the administration of Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.
Rt. Hon. Chinedu Ogah, Member Representing Ezza South/ Ikwo Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Onyekachi Nwoba, Coordinator Ikwo Development Center, Dr Donatus Ilang, Ebonyi State Honourable Commissioner for Education, and Hon. Chiboy Nwenyi, FON Youth Movement BOT Chairman, delivered goodwill messages, with the latter advising Ikwo youths to avoid social vices and other negative behaviors that do not yield positive outcome.
