The news of Mama’s demise came to us as a great shock, and we join you in mourning this irreparable loss. Mama Lydia was not just a mother to you and your immediate family but a mother figure whose life embodied humility, faith, resilience, and love for humanity.
At 83, she nurtured and raised a son who today stands as a beacon of leadership in our great party and in Nigeria. Her values and sacrifices are evident in your sterling qualities of service, dedication, and patriotism.
As a chapter of our great party, we share in your grief at this difficult time. We are consoled, however, by the fact that Mama lived a fulfilled life and left behind a worthy legacy of faith, good character, and selfless service.
While her physical presence will be missed, her spirit, values, and prayers will continue to inspire you and guide your path in leadership.
We pray that God Almighty grants Mama eternal rest in His bosom and gives you, your family, and indeed our entire APC family the fortitude to bear this painful loss.
