Information Commissioner Pledges To Partner Journalist For Effective Government Policy Reportage

The new commissioner for information and state orientation, Barr. Ikeuwa Omebe has pledge to partner with journalists in the state to effectively propagate Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru's People's Charter of Needs policies and programs.


Omebe revealed this during his maiden interaction with Journalists in Abakaliki. He said, the partnership will involve working closely with journalists to ensure that accurate and timely information about the government's policies and programs is disseminated to the public.


The Commissioner disclosed his readiness to establish regular channels between his office and journalists. This, according to him will allow for easy exchange of information and updates on policies and programs of Governor Francis Nwifuru's administration.

He assured journalist of his preparedness to create access for them in Government agencies and department to enable them get firsthand information on government policies and programs, as well as have their questions and concerns addressed.

The Commissioner equally enjoined journalist to always seek for his office's clarification on any issues that is not clear to them before going to press, as his office is open for such clarification at all times.
