Under Gov. Nwifuru, Ebonyi Now Most Peaceful, Safest State In S/East - Eze

The Special Assistant to the Governor of Ebonyi State on internal Security, Capital City, Mr  Eze Panchris Ikechukwu, popularly (Power) has described Ebonyi as the most peaceful, calm, and crime-free state in the entire Southeast region of Nigeria. He made this assertion during an exclusive interview which he spoke on the successes recorded under the current administration of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Bldr. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru in the area of security within the capital city.

Hon. Panchris Eze expressed deep gratitude to Governor Nwifuru for finding him worthy of the sensitive responsibility of safeguarding lives and properties within the urban. According to him, the serene and secure atmosphere currently enjoyed across Ebonyi is a product of synergy, mutual respect and good working relationship among the security outfits operating in the state.

He revealed that the collaborative efforts of the Ebonyi Neighborhood Watch and other statutory security agencies, especially the Nigerian Police Force and the Civil Defence, have played a pivotal role in neutralizing potential threats in the security of lives and properties. He further explained that the Neighborhood Watch Security works hand-in-hand with legal practitioners to ensure that criminals are properly prosecuted in accordance with the law in the case of criminal matters.

While acknowledging that a few bad elements might still be mingling among the law-abiding citizens, the SA on Capital City Security however noted with confidence that Ebonyi is not a safe haven for kidnappers and other hardened criminals, as most of those who dared to disrupt the peace of the state are now cooling off in prison custody.

Mr. Eze emphasized that peace and security are sine-qua-non in achieving Governor Nwifuru’s People’s Charter of Needs mantra. He described the peaceful environment of the state as a prerequisite for the full actualization of the administration's developmental blueprint, pledging his continued commitment to ensuring that the capital city remains secure for all.

“Security should be everybody’s business. We call on citizens to collaborate with us by providing useful and timely information to security operatives. That is the only way we can continue to keep the bad eggs out,” he stressed.

The Governor’s aide also commended the strategic appointment of Special Assistants on Security across all the 13 local government areas of the state by Governor Nwifuru, noting that it has significantly bolstered the fight against insecurity across Ebonyi State.

The SA to the governor also sent a strong warning to the youths especially those involved in illegal activities and suspicious movements to learn from the experiences of others and retrace their steps before it is too late for them, as his office will never compromise on the security of lives and properties, no matter whose ox is gored.

He seized the opportunity to congratulate Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru on his successful two years in office and commended his tireless efforts in delivering on the People’s Charter of Needs, while pledging his continued loyalty and dedication to the administration’s vision for a safer and more prosperous Ebonyi State.
