The Commissioner for Border peace and conflict Resolution Dr Donatus Ilang has called for detail investigation on the recent skmishes and alleged attack of one person in Ezeke
-Amasiri community. The commissioner made the
Call at an interactive meeting with the leadership and stakeholders of the two communities in his office at old Govt House Abakaliki.
Dr Ilang who stressed on the adverse effects of crisis in Communities as it retards progress and development enjoined the stakeholders from the two communities to unite and assist the security agencies in fishing out the perpetrators of the dastardly act. He warned that the state Government Will not folds it's hand and watch individual or group to truncate the peace of the two communities and urged the two communities to use all available means including traditional means of settlement to fish out the perpetrators.
Dr Ilang however enjoined the Committee handling the land dispute between Amata Akpoha and Ezeke Amasiri to speedy up actions and proffer solution for possible implementation by the state Government and local authorities.
In their remarks, the Hon Commissioner for market Development prof. Nwogo Obasi and the Deputy chief of staff Eng Donatus Uche Maintained that those who propagates the ember of war remains an enemy to the two communities and stressed on the need to unravel the person who masterminded the attack
The Cordinator of Amasiri DC, Hon Anya Baron Ogbonnaya and his counterpart of Amaoha Development center Hon Kenneth orji assured that the development centers will work assiduously with two communities to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incidents.
Speaking on behalf Ezeke Amasiri ,the traditional Ruler of Amasiri Community HRH Ezeogo Bassey Onya Idam, chairman Uke Ezeke Idam Amadii and Hon councilor representing Ezeke ward Hon.Jewel inya .noted that the two communities Akpoha and Amasiri are blood brothers and cannot engage in Communal war. They appreciated the Governor of Ebonyi state Rt Hon Bulider Ogbonnaya Nwifuru for his timely intervention and the commissioner for calling the meeting as they expressed optimisim that the meeting will yield fruits for peacefully coexistence between the two communities.
On their part the Traditional ruler of Amata Akpoha Community, Michael Eke Eze, professor John Igidi, and the former caretaker chairman of Afikpo North LGA, Elder David Egwu said that the people of Amata Akpoha are disposed for peace with their neighbouring Amasiri Communities and thanked the state Government and the ministry for their efforts in maintaining peace in the Area.
