APC Lauds Gov. Nwifuru's Plans To Revive NIGERCEM

The State Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ebonyi State Chapter, has lauded the ongoing industrialization drive of His Excellency, Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, describing it as both apt and monumental.

Governor Nwifuru has proven himself to be a principled, transparent, and reliable leader, consistently staying true to the values and agenda he articulated during his campaign.

“Hats off to leaders who stay true to their campaign promises and work tirelessly to fulfill them when entrusted with power.”

In Nigeria’s contemporary democratic landscape, often marked by leaders who abandon their promises after winning office, Ebonyi State stands out. Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru continues to demonstrate gratitude to Ebonyians for their massive support during the 2023 General Election by diligently working to fulfil his campaign promises to the letter. Indeed, “the truest test of leadership is remembering the people’s hopes long after the campaign banners come down.”

Of particular note is the Governor’s bold move to resuscitate the Nigeria Cement Company (NIGERCEM) in Nkalagu, a development the APC State Working Committee warmly welcomes.

Founded in 1954, NIGERCEM was Nigeria’s first indigenous cement plant and a significant employer in the Eastern region. During its operational peak between the 1960s and 1980s, it played a crucial role in the eastern economic development. Its revival will not only boost the economy of Ebonyi State but also help launch the State and the entire South East region into the economic mainstream of Nigeria and Africa at large.

It is evidently clear that Governor Nwifuru’s industrial vision is sequentially geared towards the comprehensive development of Ebonyi State. From the groundbreaking ceremony of the Industrial City in Ezzangbo, Ohaukwu LGA, to the current plans to revitalize NIGERCEM, the Governor’s initiatives reflect a clear, strategic roadmap for progress.

We, the State Working Committee of the APC, Ebonyi State, will continue to celebrate this God-sent leader and Governor. We commend his visionary policies and holistic approach towards positioning the State at the center stage of economic transformation.

We also wish to appreciate specially the Governor for constituting a highly competent and experienced 15-man committee tasked with the reactivation of NIGERCEM, Nkalagu. The quality and caliber of  individuals appointed to this committee is a true testament to the Governor’s commitment and readiness to bring this monumental industrial project to fruition.
