Commissioner For Border Peace Resolves Land Dispute In Ndiakparata Village: Assures Of Speedy Demarcation

The lingering land dispute between the people of Ndiakparata and Ndiezeoke villages in Izzil LGA has been resolved by the State Government. Addressing the leaders of the two villages/ Communities in his office the Hon Commissioner for Border peace and conflict Resolution Dr Donatus Ilang noted that the land in dispute has been in possession of the land in dispute prior to the recent crisis that resulted to loss of houses and property of Ndiakparata village.He however added that for peacefully coexistence, Ndiakparata should relinquish 10 hectares from the 34.59 hectares of the areas in dispute to Ndiezeoke village. He assured that the state and the local Government will facilitate the demarcation exccersie.

The commissioner further condemned the destructions of houses and homes belonging to the villagers and warned against such behaviouri in  Izzi land arguing that the people should rather strategies and support the Governor of Ebonyi state Rt Hon Bulider Ogbonnaya Nwifuru to develop their Communities.

Dr Ilang noted that the decision of Government on the matter have been communicated to all the security agencies to curtal breakdown of law and order in the area .

In their responses, David Nwogbaga, Innocent Nwobu  and Nwogbaga Nwugbala all of Ndiezeoke village thanked the state Government for painstakingly handling of the dispute and promise to relate the decision of Government to the elders and villagers at home.

On their part, Nwenyi Jude and Nwanugo Gregory of Ndiakparata villagers noted that the two villages have been living in peace before the recent skirmishes .They appreciated the Governor of Ebonyi State Rt Hon Bulider Ogbonnaya Nwifuru for setting the process of conflict Resolution in Ebonyi communities and assured that Ndiakparata village have accepted the decision of Government on the land dispute and called for implementation of same to foster unity in the village 

It could be recalled that land dispute erupted between Ndiakparata and Ndiezeoke villages of old Igbeagu community with several intervention from traditional institution and local authorities with the dispute culminating to crisis that led to destruction of over 72 homes of Ndiakparata village prompting the state Government through the ministry of Border peace and conflict Resolution to inspect and conduct technical mapping of the disputed areas
