Chief Obeji Linus, the chairman of the Abakaliki Rice Mill industry, has pledged to serve the company and improve civility in the industry, saying he is emulating the Ebonyi State Governor, R.T. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru's peace initiatives in the state to promote the Mill company.
Obeji, who stated this at his inauguration for a second term as the chairman of the Abakaliki Rice Mill industry, along with other elected executives, thanked Governor Nwifuru for allowing peace to reign in the rice mill and maintained his stance for the governor's second tenure.
Eyewitness news has confirmed that in his first tenure, Chief Obeji had constructed a police post, toilet facilities, and bathrooms, and had bought a brand new set of chairs for the meeting hall, as well as introduced the bushel measurement and improved security.
In his words:
"My assurance to my people is that they have given me the opportunity to do more, and definitely I will do more by injecting more civility into Abakaliki Rice Mill and more development to Abakaliki Rice Mill," Obeji said.
The former chairman of Abakaliki Rice mill, and the member representing Abakaliki South constituentcy at the Ebonyi state House of Assembly, Hon. Joseph Ununu had earlier commended Chief Obeji for his infrastructural development and urged him to do more. ,
"He has constructed a toilet, a police post, a canteen, bathrooms for our people here, and he has proven that he is here to serve. I urge him to continue with his good works, and thanks to our Governor, His Excellency, Prince Ogbonna Nwifuru, for ensuring that peace has returned to Rice Mill," Ununu stated.
In his remarks, His Royal Highness, Sunday Oketa, expressed his gladness over the peaceful conduct of the election as well as the successful inauguration and hailed Chief Obeji for his performance in his first tenure, expressing confidence in his ability to foster more development in the mill industry.
Our correspondent gathered that earlier, Chief Obeji and Hon. Friday Oketa had donated two big cows to the mill owners as a way of demonstrating unity in the company and noted the happy mood of Hon. Friday Oketa over the successful inauguration ceremony.
