The wife of the Federal House of Representatives member for Ikwo/Ezza South Constituency, Chief Mrs. Mary Chinedu Ogah (Oso di eme), has distributed over 150 bags of fertilizer to women in Ebonyi State.
This gesture took place during the 2024 August Meeting of the Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency, held at Central Nursery and Primary School, Agubia Ikwo.
In her address, Mrs. Ogah urged mothers and married women to foster peace, love, and unity in their families by showing respect and support to their husbands. She commended the First Lady of Ebonyi State, Her Excellency, Chief Mrs. Maudlin Uzoamaka Ogbonna Nwifuru (Ogbanku), for her exceptional leadership in promoting women's inclusiveness in the current administration. Mrs. Ogah highlighted the efforts of the First Lady’s foundation, Better Health for Rural Women, Children, and Internally Displaced Persons (BERWO), which has been instrumental in reaching out to elderly women and the less privileged in the society.
"Our First Lady has set a high standard for us to follow," Mrs. Ogah stated. "It is our responsibility to emulate her quality leadership and ensure that women at the grassroots are positively impacted. Today, we represent every woman at the federal level and celebrate their unwavering support and roles in their families."
She expressed concern over the negligence of some women in child upbringing and urged them to collaborate harmoniously with their husbands to achieve common goals. "Women are expected to be helpers to their husbands. They should give total respect, show genuine love, and allow men to take the lead in the family. A wise woman builds her home; she is the pride of her husband. She avoids behaviors that could harm her family or society."
