The federal lawnmaker stated this on Saturday at Ndiofoke Amegu playground during the 2024 Aji Ereke cultural carnival. Ogah revealed that his reason for such investment is to showcase the rich cultural heritage of his people to the whole world.
"As an elected leader, I put it as part of my project. Every year, I will be voting money for us to celebrate this culture. By next year, I'm going to vote in one hundred million. By next year we are going to bring international Community to this culture because our Governor have shown us the way".
He explained that the Aji Ereke cultural festival is an annual event that marks the beginning of a farming season. He narrated further that it is an eight days events which is celebrated across the twenty five villages of Amegu Erimogudu kingdom.
Ogah, who expressed Joy over the success of the event explained that since the present administration came on board, Ikwo has experienced unprecedented peace, because of the peaceful disposition of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and assured him of the continued support of his at all times.
“It usually has an 8 day event as a carnival. It has taken place in the villages. We have never had any gunshot in the boundary area with Cross Rivers state.
“We are celebrating this culture because the government is with us. 25 villages participated in this cultural programme. Our power comes from the villagers. This is the celebration for unity, peace and togetherness. We dance together. We celebrate together. We move in oneness because we are together and peaceful".
The special guest of honor and Ebonyi state Governor, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, commended Ikwo people for packaging such wonderful cultural festival, describing it as a Celebration of unity.
Nwifuru who was represented by his Deputy, Princess Patricia Obila extolled the member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Comrade Chinedu Ogah, OON, for the initiative that aided the celebration of Aji Ereke cultural carnival.
According to him: “Here is my home. We are here again to celebrate the cultural heritage and identity of this place. We are here to celebrate the real culture of this place.
“We are here to thank God and to officially mark the beginning of this year’s planting season. We want to appreciate you, Comrade Chinedu Ogah for this initiative. All of us are here to celebrate this land. We will celebrate the fat harvest.
“Within 7 days there will be rain. The people of Ikwo are great people. Go back, you have seen and you have conquered. All we need is peace and we have seen it here today.”
The 2024 Amagu Erimaogwudu AJI EREKE Cultural carnival witnessed lots of crowd, cultural displays from both youths, women and men and exhibitions from different masquerades.
Other dignitaries in attendance include the speaker of Ebonyi state House of Assembly, Rt Hon Moses Ije Odunwa, Senator Kenneth Eze,
National Assembly members, Local Government Chairmen, Tranditooal rulers, youth and women groups, among others.
They were various cultural display masquerades to add glamour to the event.
