Ivo Council Boss Tasks Ngwogwo New Executive On Peace, Unity, Development

The newly elected Youth Executive of Ngwogwo Community has been charged to work hard and ensure the sustenance of existing peace, unity and development of the Area.


The charge was handed down to them by the Executive Chairman, Ivo Local Government Area, Chief Emmanuel Ajah, on Saturday at Ngwogwo primary school shortly after a successful and peaceful election of the youth Executive in the area. 

Ajah, while congratulating the newly elected 9-man youth Executive of Ngwogwo Community, enjoined them to unite every Ngwogwo sons and daughters and ensure they use the resources of the community to develope the Area, noting that, as a council Chairman, he is not interested in finance of the community, but the government is interested in ensuring that the fund is judiciously used for the Development of the area.


He warned them against indulging in any act that may cause a breach of prace in the area, avaaring that the administration of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru is anchored on peace and as such, they should replicate the peaceful disposition that the governor has brought to bear in the state, in Ngwogwo Community.

He Commended the people for their peaceful  conduct during the election and urged them to sustain the peace.



On his part, the commissioner for border peace and conflict resolution,  Dr Donatus Ilang, expressed satisfaction with process and commended the people for the their peaceful disposition despite their large turnout, and enjoined them not to allow anyone disrupt the existing peace in the community.


In his acceptance speech on behalf of the new Executive, the Chairman, Mr Sunday Okeke Ogbonna, thanked the people for finding them worthy to serve,  He assured that they are going to work for the progress of Ngwogwo. He vowed not to disappoint the people, but will work hard with his Executive to  promote prace, Unity and development of Ngwogwo.


Those that witnessed the election included the Commissioner for Board Peace and Conflict Resolution, Dr  Donatus Ilang, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matter, internal security, Ishiagu Community Development Union federated ably represented by the Vice president, Chairman of all Chairmen in Ishiagu community, men of security personnel's including the Commissioner of Police ably represented by the division Police Officer,   Crack and Swat squad, Department of State Service  DSS, Nigeria Civil Defense Corp and other conventional security agencies.

The election was generally adjudged peaceful, credible, free and fair which produced the underlisted Executive;

Recall that the tenure of the former Executive elapsed on the 5th of January, 2024 , but due to some disagreement, the election of the new Executive was shifted to 17th of February.
