Ebonyi NUJ Rejoices With Former Chair On New Appointment

The Nigeria Union of journalist NUJ, Ebonyi State council, has rejoiced with the immediate past Chairman of the council, Comrade Tony Nwizi on his appointment as the Director General, Ebonyi Broadcasting Cooperation (EBBC).

In a Congratulatory message signed by the Chairman of the council, comrade Samson Nwafor and made available to journalist in Abakaliki, described the appointment as meritorious and deserving, considering the avalanche of experience the new Director General had gained in the media industry, expressing hope of better days in Ebbc.

The message reads:

"The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ebonyi State Council, heartily congratulates the immediate past Chairman of the Council, Comrade Anthony Nwizi, on his meritorious appointment as the Director General of Ebonyi Broadcasting Corporation (EBBC) by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Bldr. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.

"The appointment of Comrade Nwizi is well deserved having rose from the ranks as a staff of the Corporation. The Council has no oita of doubt that he would bring his many years of experience in the Media industry to bear in the discharge of his new assignment.

"The Council recalls that this is the first time a Staff of the Corporation is being appointed as the DG. This is why we're very much confident that this appointment would bring the desired positive change in the Corporation.

"The Council also sincerely thank the Governor for not only taking this bold decision of changing the old narrative in the EBBC, but for always believing in the Youths, many of whom he has appointed into sensitive positions. 

"The Council, therefore, calls on the Members of NUJ and indeed, the entire Staff of EBBC to give the new DG, who is our own, the maximum cooperation to succeed, in order to make EBBC to favourably compete in the comity of Broadcast industry both within and outside the Nigeria".
