Nnefioha: Culture Commissioner Preaches Peace, Unity In Ikwo

The Ebonyi State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Stanley Ifeanyi Ogbuewu, has enjoined the people of Ikwo Local Government, to live in peace and harmony with one another, as peace remains developmental instrument,  in any progressive society. The Commissioner said this on Monday, at 'Edukwu Nnoyo', in Ikwo Local Government Area during the 2023 'Nnefioha' festival.

The Commissioner, noted that Culture was part of people's existence, and thus, shall not be taken for granted, saying that it was the foundation of the existence of mankind.

"It is impossible to separate culture from our existence. Culture defines our evolutionary identity. It is therefore, very important  to remember that our cultures define our existence and make us who we are, because, without culture, we are not existing."

Hon. Ogbuewu, appealed to the sons and daughters of Ikwo, to uphold culture, in considering the society unity it offers, adding that it gives true meaning to life.
"I therefore, enjoin everyone to uphold the rich cultural heritage we are known for. We must uphold our culture because, it gives meaning to our ancestral values and  true meaning of life. It is therefore, very imperative, to sustain our cultural heritage, considering the fact that it brings sense of belonging and societal unity."

The 'Nnefioha' festival attracted the presence of Ikwo council of traditional rulers, the Speaker and Members of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Local Government Chairmen, National Assembly Member, Wife of the Governor, and the State Chief Executive, Rt Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, who was represented by the Chief of Staff, Prof. Emmanuel Echiegu.
