Gov Nwifuru's Senior Security Aide Seeks Synergy With Security Agency In Ebonyi South

The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Francis Nwifuru on Internal Security, Ebonyi South, Comrade Okenwa Nnachi Uka, has emphasized the need for healthy synergy among security agencies in the zone to guarantee the security of life and property of the people, which according to him, is the cardinal duty of Government.

The senior Security aide disclosed this on Tuesday, during a familiarization visit to Ohaozara and Afikpo Area commands of Nigeria police.

"I have come to familiarize myself with you to see how we can partner with you to ensure that our people are secured.

"I am here to interact with you because police is the number one point of call when it comes to security in this country and I believe, it will go a long way to guarranteeing adequate security of life and property in our people.

"Our coming on board is to complement your efforts. 
Being the locals, we know the terrain. We know the people. And there are so many things our faces can do and even our names.

"Our aim is to ensure that crimes are prevented from happening. Even if it happens, the culprits are apprehended in good time.

"I have outlined my security  strategies which I will present to the Governor after my tour of all the police formations in Ebonyi South and I believe, if approved, will make the security in this zone seemless. 

"Our Governor, His Excellency Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, is leader who puts security of the state at the fulcrum of his administration and he is committed to ensuring adequate policing of all nooks and crannies of the state".

Recieving the Senior Special Assistant in his office, the Area commander, ACP Uduak Udom, Commended him for his steps so far, noting that security is a collective task that requires collaborative effort of all.

He assured him that his command will work with him to make sure that crime and criminality are curtailed in the area.

"I am impressed by this visit. It shows that you have the experience and also committed to what you are called to do.  I'm certain, you're going to excel. I want to assure you that we are going to work together to ensure that life and property of the people are protected.  Just as said earlier, we will work to ensure that crimes are prevented and curtailed to its berest minimum in this zone".

He expressed displeasure over the kind of environment he is working, citing lack of office accommodation among other things.

On his part, the acting Area commander of Afikpo Area command, CSP Amah Bethel, expressed joy over the visit, stressing that visit is timely and a right step in a right direction. He went on to say that the visit is the first of its kind since he was posted to the command months ago.

"This visit is the first of its kind. It shows that you are an experienced and committed person, because it takes an experienced and committed person to take this kind of step.
I learnt that the governor also appointed Special Assistant on Internal Security in all the local Government Areas, but as I speak with you, none of them have even called or visited. Even Council Chairmen have not been accessible.

"I want to commend and assure that we are going to work together to secure the people",  he assured.
