OKE-AKU: Gov. Nwifuru Celebrates With Ezza Ezekuna Clan

Governor  Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has felicitated with Ezza Ezekuna clan on the occasion of her 2023 New yam festival (OKE-AKU).

In a good will message personally signed by the Governor, wished them fruitful celeebrations and urged them to sustain those things that will help unite the state for greater good of all.


Governor Nwifuru said, "I am delighted to felicitate with the people of Ezza Ezekuna both at home and  in diaspora on the occasion of this year's New Yam Festival (Oke-Aku) which is a crucial way of marking the beginning and end the farming season.

"The people of Ezza Ezekuna as the eldest and one of the most populous have remained strategic in the development of the State. Their spirit of industry, resilience and accomodation has contributed  not only to the  promotion of the   cultural heritage of the people  but overall development of the State 

"As  you embark on this cultural  rejuvenation,  I urge to you to sustain those ideals that will help to unite the people for a greater prospect. 

"I am particularly happy that you have sustained this rich tradition in which yarn as a major crop is used as a symbol for inspiring love, unity, and development across your communities. Therefore, as peace loving people should continue to maintain cordial relationship with your neighbours. 

"Let me use this opportunity to appeal to those who are better placed to kindly use this period of new yam festival to reach out to downtrodden around them

"On behalf of the Government and good people of Ebonyi State,  I once again congratulate you and wish you increased prosperity, peace ,love and harmony".
