Odinma Ebonyi Foundation, ODEF has commended the Ebonyi State Governor, His Excellency, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonnaya Nwifuru on the appointment of Professor Grace Umezurike as the Secretary to the State Government.
ODEF in a statement Saturday through its Chairman, Collins Azu said the appointment reflects the governor's regard for gender mainstreaming, an appeal most governors have since the return to democratic rule, ignored.
With the appointment, it is trite to submit that Governor Nwifuru is committed to the Ebonyi project and will leave unerasable footprints in the sand of time.
The statement by Collins Azu reads
"We are enthused and very delighted by Governor Nwifuru's appointment of the first female Secretary to State Government in the annals of history.
"At last we are vindicated having rallied support for the Governor's election. "The Governor is a man of many firsts. He is the first Governor of Ebonyi State with a female Deputy Governor and now the first to appoint the first female Secretary to State Government.
"The appointment reflects the Governor's regard for gender mainstreaming, a call for inclusive governance others ignored.
"It is trite to submit that with Governor Nwifuru, Ebonyi will witness tsunamic development both in human and material development never found or witnessed anywhere.
"We commend him very highly for being a jinx the breaker while praying for God's grace upon him to fulfil the PEOPLE'S CHATTER OF NEEDS for Ndi Ebonyi".
"ODEF calls on calls on both the street and elites to support the Governor in his quest to take Ebonyi on the journey of greatness".
