Ebonyi State Governor, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has approved the immediate recruitment of 195 medical professionals into Ebonyi primarily healthcare system.
Nwifuru, who had repeatedly condemned the rot in the primary health sector of the state, took the decision barely two weeks in office.
In a press statement from the Governor's Chief press secretary, Dr Monday Uzor
"In fulfilment of his promise to reposition the health sector, the Governor of Ebonyi, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has approved immediate recruitment of medical personnel for the thirteen General Hospitals in the State as follows:
1. Thirty Nine Medical Doctors
2. Thirty Nine Nurses
3. Thirty Nine Laboratory Scientists
4. Thirty Nine pharmacists and
5. Thirty Nine Health Attendants.
"To this , His Excellency the Governor has directed the Head of Service, and Chairman Civil Service Commission to urgently commence the process of recruiting suitably qualified medical personnel to fill the existing vacancies".
