Ebonyi: NGO Trains over 2000 Youths On Skill Acquisition, Enroll 1,760 Widows for Empowerment

The nongovernmental organization known as Wistop Mega foundation in Ebonyi state yesterday Listed some of the mega achievements of the organization.


Speaking with a journalist shortly after the monthly conference of the organization at the Aristocrats Hotel in Abakaliki, the state capital. The Chief executive officer of wistop  mega foundation Mr. Enweogu Wisdom Chukwuemeka, retains some of the key projects and achievements through which his foundation has influenced the vitalities of youths and as well widows.

 According to Enweogu, he said his organization is Into human capital development and capacity building and enhancement which has so far skill up over two thousand youths. selected from five local government Areas of the state that consists of Ohaukwu, Afikpo North, Ebonyi local government, Izzi, and Ezza North, adding that the organization usually engage on the outdoor program and mentorship depending on what community, groups, organization demanded.

The WISTOP MEGA FOUNDATION boss, nevertheless, expressed that his organization had traveled to about sixteen states in Nigeria engaging youth in useful mentorship training and skill acquisition and capacity building which intend to reach out to less privileged training them to be informed, sound, self-dependent, and as well financially free.


He indicated that the mission of the organization is to bring digital knowledge and modern technology to assure total care to the less privileged and widows and thereby grooming people on ways to attain specific knowledge.


" we open the eye of our people to the modern skill acquisition that will make them self-reliant and self-employed.

"We have done so much even a lot of people that have followed us are very stable that we can boldly say their financially free because there don't have to depend on anybody to suicide.


" We are also into window care which we have empowered about three hundred and fifty widows between 2019-2020 that is what we have achieved but we have enrolled (1,760) one thousand seven hundred and sixty widows presently among five local government Areas of Ebonyi state for our next move soon as we get some support and funds to initiate it.

"Our windows are divided into 14 units to enable us easy access to them because some of the challenges we are having are the ability to reach them that is why we considered it crucial to empower our widows heads and leaders with phones and a total of twenty-eight phone was released and given to them.


" We have given some of them foot wears, rapper and some food items, and palliatives
We have as well give little start up capital for business to nine widows.


" When it comes to digital empowerment, we have been able to empower ten churches like catholic, Assemble of the Believers, and watchman catholic among others and that was done during my birthday last two years.

" The empowerment is not daily but we have been able to give them digital knowledge that authorizes them to associate with international company, we have as well-trained people in livestock farming businesses like piggy poultry farms and fishery by giving them the right information channel that will guide them.


" I can recall a few years ago that the organization brought Google through one of the southeast coordinators Emeka Odubele to Ebonyi state where we had training in Ohaukwu and Afikpo North local government each local government in their training have about one hundred and fourteen persons in attendance in our attendance list why Afikpo North has ninety-six persons all the participants were given certificates of participation.


" We have also partnered with scholars  chambers for commerce and industry  SCCI and ten of our members were trained and selected to be certified on PRODUCTIVITY DEVELOPMENT by  the Skill  Development Council of  Canada.


" We don't have external donor everything we are doing so far is self sponsored, because we still expect sources and support wherever they come from 

"We expect government, community, or private NGO that can declare interest in what we do and we will assure them any support given to us, we will deliver.
