The member representing Abakaliki North Constituency in the Ebonyi State House of Assembly Hon. Victor Chidi Nwoke has vowed to tackle youths restiveness, poverty, unemployment in his constituency before he bows out of office.
The lawmaker stated this while celebrating with his constituents after his inauguration into 7th Assembly of the State in Abakaliki.
He commended the Governorship candidate of the People's Democratic Party PDP His Excellency Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii for his unflinching supports through out the electioneering period.
He also congratulated the immediate past Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru on his emergence and successful swearing in as the fourth executive Governor of the state.
However, he lauded stakeholders in the State especially his predecessor Hon. Franka Okpo and other political party candidates including Labour Party and APGA for the key roles they played to ensure his mandate was not stolen and promised not to disappoint them in the legislative business.
Hon. Nwoke who said he was overwhelmed with joy about the magnitude of support from across boards that propelled him to win the election to represent Abakaliki North Constituency, called all and sundry to also support the government in power for the overall interest and development of the State.
He further sent his word of appreciation to the youths of Izzi clan, ward party chairmen, support groups for rejecting the financial inducements of his opponent and stood by him throughout the struggle which gave him victory at the polls, assured to bring dividends of democracy to the people.
He noted that the massive supports witnessed during the struggle was a clear indication that his people wants him to represent them.
He promised to prioritize education by sponsoring youths into institutions of higher learning and as well engaged heath professionals to be checking the health status of his constituents especially aged men and women for optimal performances.
He advised youths in the Constituency to shun indulging into cultism or any other illegal group and engage themselves meaningfully while expressing his readiness to harness talents among the youths and liaise with National Assembly members to secure jobs for them in the Federal establishments.
He reassured to make the interest and welfare of his constituents his utmost priority while soliciting their continued support and solidarity to take the constituency to the greater height.
In his good will message, the executive chairman of Abakaliki Local Government Area Hon. Stephen Ebere Nwogba expressed happiness about the victory and inauguration of the new legislator and charged him never to relent in uplifting the living standard of the people and to support Governor Nwifuru's adminstration at all times.
On her part, the immediate past member representing Abakaliki North Constituency Hon. Franka Okpo said the emergence of Hon. Nwoke has made the constituency proud and prayed God to grant him more grace to succeed in all his lives endeavors.
Recall that the lawmaker (PDP) contested against the younger brother to the immediate past Governor of Ebonyi State Hon. Maxwell Umahi who was the candidate of APC and the election was declared inconclusive which led to rerun but was eventually declared winner of the election having secured the highest votes.
