Deputy Speakership: Igbo Group Urges Tinubu To Support Ogah

The Young Igbos APC Political Forum (YIAPF) has charged the president-elect, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu to continue to prove to the world that he does not compensate political laxity in a bid to favour friendship or brotherhood.

A statement signed by the entire leadership of the group through the spokesperson, in their congratulatory message to the president-elect urged him to look inward and compensate those that gave him good votes in the South-East with leadership positions in the National Assembly and other areas in his administration.

The group called on the president-elect to look at the impressive outing of Hon. Chinedu Ogah, the House of Representative member representing the good people of Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency, Ebonyi State.

The statement reads:

“Once again, we want to send our warm congratulatory message to the president-elect for the umpteenth time.

“Your victory is a display of hard work and a rare knowledge of political dexterity in a very complex political circle like Nigeria.

“Mr. President Sir, winning the election as a Senator or a House of Representative member in the South-East zone or any other zone in the country is not enough. What is enough is making sure you win the constituencies of those winners also.

“Most of the Senators and House of Representatives in the South East Region scored thousands of votes for themselves in their constituencies, but you did not get up to a hundred votes from their constituencies.

“Sir, honourable Chinedua Ogah did not only win his election but he worked and ensured that he got 12,621 votes in Ikwo LGA and 2471 votes in Ezza Local Government Areas, making it a total of 15,092 votes for you in his constituency.

“These two Local Government Areas made up the constituency he is representing.

“Encouraging those that produced results for you will motivate others that traded your votes with theirs to desist from it in the future. And it will motivate others that are sleeping to wake up to work.

“It is no longer news that most of the people that won the National Assembly seats asked their people to vote for them and forget about you. But Honourable Chinedu with few others never did that.

“Your Excellency Sir, if the seat of the speaker or deputy speaker of the House of Representatives is zoned to the South-East, we implore you to give Hon. Chinedu Ogah every support to occupy either of the positions. He worked for it and he deserves it.

“The party cannot afford to give positions to those that never merited it. We should learn how to allow those that worked to reap.

“Please sir, we urge you to demonstrate to the world that you do not compensate political laxity in a bid to favour friendship or brotherhood. Give those that worked for the party every necessary encouragement by granting them the opportunity to work with you in your administration.

“Sir, as you take over the mantle of leadership of this great nation in a few days from today, we are pleading with you to take the South-East region as your primary assignment.

“Apart from the acute infrastructural deficiency facing the South-East region, we are also faced with the menace of insecurity. We implore you to do your best for our region as well as other regions in the country.

“God bless you, your excellency. The good people of the South-East are with you.”
