Afikpo Local Government Council of Ebonyi State has concluded arrangement for the relocation of Afikpo Rice Mill from its present Site at Eke Market to a new Mill at Bishop Okoro Regional Market,along Timber Shade, Afikpo
The Chairman of the Council,Hon Uchenna Nnajiofor Ibiam broke the cheering news on Tuesday when he received in audience the Executives of Afikpo Rice Mill Owners Industrial Association who were on Courtesy visit to his Office.
Hon Uche Ibiam who noted that Eke Market, Afikpo has become so congested that it deserves urgent attention, assured that in 2 months time, Rice Millers and Artisans in Afikpo town shall all be relocated to a new site for their business operations
He hinted that the new Site will provide a more comfortable business environment that would boost massive production of rice as well as accelerate commercial activities that would further fast track development in the Area.
The Council Boss further assured that his administration would provide the enabling environment before commencement of activities at the new site and implored the Rice Millers to prepare themselves ahead of the relocation exercise.
In his response, the Chairman of Afikpo Rice Mill Owners Industrial Association, Chief Godwin Isu Ojim thanked the Council Chairman for the warm reception given to them and affirmed their readiness to relocate from Eke Market to the new site as soon as the Local Government directs them to move.
In attendance included the Supervisor for Works, Hon Samuel Okpara Oko (Sam Loco); HOD Works,Engr Abraham Ibiam and other key Officers of the Council.
