Nwifuru Will Improve Welfare Of Ebonyi Students, Says Okoro Offor Joshua

The Coordinator of Divine Mandate Students Campaign Council, Comr Okoro Joshua Offor (Majesty) who doubles as the Chairman, NANS Stakeholders, Ebonyi State has maintained that the APC Gubernatorial Candidate in Ebonyi State, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru who's equally the current Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly will improve the welfare of Ebonyi State Students if elected as the Governor of Ebonyi State.


Comr Okoro Joshua Offor made this known in an interview with newsmen in Abakaliki metropolis. According to him, he said that Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has continuously showed concern to the plights of Ebonyi State Students as the Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly and if elected as the Governor, he would prioritize Students welfare as his cardinal interest.


"Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru is a Students friendly leader. He has overtime shown uncommon love to the Students which is evident. As a Student in the Law Faculty, Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki, he use to buy handout and textbooks for his course mate and Students in other levels. He use to sponsor Students programs, offset School fees of some indigent Students or those having financial challenge"


"He renovated the Faculty Complex and through his Foundation, assisted many Students to overcome their Academic Challenges financially"


"He offered Scholarship to many Students which some graduated, while others are at the verge of completing their Study"


"Through the working relationship existing between the Legislative arm which he is the Speaker and The Executive Arm which Engr Dave Nweze Umahi is the Head, Ebonyi State School of Nursing, Uburu, King David Umahi Federal University of Medical Sciences & the Teaching Hospital, Uburu, were established which are beneficial to the Students"


"We have seen his manifesto as regard Educational sector in Ebonyi State which is aimed at providing conducive environment for learning and other programs that would boast learning in the State. "

"Part of the agenda of Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru on Education which would improve the welfare of the Students as contained in his Manifesto are:

a. Improvement of the infrastructure and welfare of Ebonyi State University (EBSU) and College of Education.

b. Upgrading the infrastructure and status of Ebonyi State College of Education, Ikwo.

c. Strengthening of Tertiary Institutions and improving their infrastructural needs in Ebonyi State.

d. Promotion of Vocational and Technical Education at all levels.

e. Rebuilding of more public Schools and provision of amenities.

f. Provision of Teaching and learning Materials.

g. Increased effective monitoring and supervision.

h. Training and retraining of Teachers in public Schools.

i. Engagement of more teaching personnel in public Schools" Comr Okoro Joshua Offor added.


Comr Okoro while applauding His Excellency Engr Dave Nweze Umahi, Ebonyi State Governor for his strides in Education sector, expressed confidence and optiminism that Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru will consolidate on it and hitherto, make improvement as he stated in his blueprint. 


He however, advised the Students not to be decieved by some desperate and political merchants who wants to thwart the existing power rotation in the State which according to him would breach the existing peace and mutual understanding among the zones in the State. And urged them to use their Permanent Voter Card which is their power to vote for Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru come 11th March, 2023 as the Governor of Ebonyi State, adding that his victory is inevitable with the support thus far and declared that he is the only Candidate who has shown uncommon love to Ebonyi State and ready to improve their welfare.

Decrying the level at which youths avail themselves as a willing tool in electioneering period, he advised the Students to eschew themselves from acts inimical to peaceful and transparent election and ensure they exercise their franchise as empowered by the Constitution and protect their vote.
