Election: Council Chair Expresses Satisfaction Over Peaceful, Credible Polls In Ikwo

The Executive Chairman, Ikwo local government Area, Barr Sunday Nwankwo have expressed satisfaction over the peaceful conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly elections in the area.

Speaking with journalist shortly after casting his ballots at his  polling unit 009 Ndioduma Echalike playground, Barr Nwankwo commended the peaceful conduct and expressed optimism that his party, the All Progressives Congress APC, will win the polls.

He however, debunked the alleged intimidation and harrassement made by PDP agent, Mr  Nwoyibe Chinedu, stressing that every electorates freely casted their ballots without hindrance.

He urged the people to replicate the turnout on the 11th March, when the next Governor of the state will be elected.

Earlier, the coordinator, Ikwo East Development Center, Mr Ekuma Emmanuel at Ebianji Noyo polling unit affirmed that the conduct have been hitch free and peaceful, though decried the low turnout which he attributed to the constant threat by the unknown gunmen in the area.

"You can see it for yourself, there's orderliness in the unit. The INEC  adhoc staffs are doing their best to keep to the standard."

At Ugbodo Echalike polling unit, the APC state youth leader, Comrade Aloh Ogbonnaya expressed satisfaction with the peaceful nature of the conduct and commended his people for turning out enmass to exercise their franchise.


Some of the electorates who spoke with our reporter included, the CEO Delamb Entertainment, Mr Onyebuchi Oreke,  Dr Aaron Nwedu, Hon. Nkweke Njoku Pascal, Mr Matthew Ojon and Chukwu Virginia among others alluded to peaceful and credible conduct of the election.

They also added that the election is one of the most free, fair and credible election conducted so far.
