Divine Mandate Campaign Council Condems Assassination Attempt On APC Chairman, Emegha

Condemnation has continued to trail the boxing day assassination attempt on the life of Ebonyi state APC chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, which resulted to the gruesome murder of his younger brother, Emeka Orji, Police inspector attached to his office, Festus Akpan and burning of his two houses in his Ekoli Edda country home.

The Ebonyi State APC Divine Mandate Campaign Council on Friday, lend her voice to the condemnation in its totality the horrid attacks and attempted assassination of its State Party Chairman, who was almost murdered in his village on December 26th 2022.

The Director General of the Divine Mandate Campaign Council, Chief Austin Umahi gave the condemnation on Friday when he led members of the campaign council, State and National Assembly Candidates of APC on a solidarity visit to the State Chairman in his Abakaliki residence.

The Director General who was visibly livid with the masterminds and perpetrators of the carnage, stated that the attempt to kill the APC State Party Chairman was reprehensible and repugnant in all its ugly ramifications. He observed that Chief Emegha had made personal sacrifices for the party and deserves the respect of all true party faithfuls, pointing out that the party chairman's refusal to take the war to his enemies was not an act of cowardice, but an act of respect for the party leader, Engr David Nweze Umahi,  the Governor of Ebonyi State. He also made the attackers to understand that Chief Emegha was not a pushover personality and that he has the capacity to unleash a reprisal that would herald greater collateral damages, but he didn't as a lover of peace.

Chief Umahi equally reinforced in its strongest terms the position of the State Working Committee of the party that the masterminds and the perpetrators of that barbarism must be brought to justice. He decried the losses in property and lives which Chief Emegha suffered as a result of the failure of his assassins to get at him and kill him, being the the prime target of their evil mission. The Ebonyi State APC Campaign Council condoled with the State Party Chairman and his family even as the Party Chairman assured the Council that the attacks on him and his household cannot deter his resolve as a committed party man to work for the victory of the APC at all levels in Ebonyi State.

Chief Emegha thanked the Divine Mandate Campaign Council and the Party Candidates for the visit, condolences and  the solidarity, reiterating that he would have become history if not by the whiskers and God's ultimate interventions, affirming too that the critical assignment of the assassins was to eliminate him by all means and at all costs without a trace. He thanked God for saving his life and appreciated Governor Umahi whom he glowingly described  as a leader who had ran the good race for eight eventful years and was exiting happily and bequeathing a huge empire he built for the APC to sustain, which must not be allowed to collapse because of the machinations of few individuals.

Recall that on 26th December, 2022 which was boxing day, a group of trigger happy hoodlums swooped on the Ebonyi State APC Chairman, Chief Emegha who was at his Ekoli-Edda country home for the yuletide. When they failed to assassinate him, they killed his younger brother and a police officer attached to him and reduced his storey building in the village to flaming rubbles.

Recall too that on Saturday, 31st December, 2022, the State Working Committee of the APC presented it's position paper on the mayhem to the Father of the State, Governor David Nweze Umahi at his Uburu Country home when the SWC paid the Governor a Christmas homage; and the governor assured the SWC that he was considering its position critically and very seriously.

This solidarity visit by the Divine Mandate Campaign Council and all the State and National Assembly Candidates of APC led by the Director General; Chief Austin Umahi, gives vent to the call for justice for Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha. It is therefore the unwavering belief of the Divine Mandate Campaign Council that all those involved whether directly or indirectly in the attempted murder of Chief Emegha would be brought to book no matter how highly placed and in the shortest possible time.
With the Divine Mandate Campaign Council during the solidarity visit were; the Senatorial Candidate of APC Ebonyi North Senatorial Zone and former PDP State Chairman, Barr. Onyekachi Nwaebonyi, the Deputy Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly and APC candidate for Afikpo North West State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Ikoro Kingsley Ogbonna as well as other National and State House of Assembly APC candidates for the 2023 general elections in Ebonyi State.
