Ikwo Council Chair Assents To 2023 Budget of Legacy; Assures Of More Democratic Dividends

The Executive Chairman of Ikwo Local Government Arae, Barr. Sunday Nwankwo has on Wednesday 1st December, 2022 signed the approved budget of the Council tagged "Budget of Legacy for the People of Ikwo LGA"

Performing the Excercise in his office, the Council Chairman thanked the Legislative Arm of the Council for the speedy passage of the budget and assured the people of Ikwo LGA of his determination to bring dividends of democracy to their door steps.
Barr. Nwankwo reinstated that the budget will focus on welfare, infrastructure and empowerment that would leave positive legacy even for generations to come. He promised to continue to run an open door policy, stressing the need for collective efforts at making Ikwo LGA the best among equals.

Presenting the approved budget to the Chairman for his assent, the leader of Ikwo Legislative Council, Hon. Stephen Nwukwu thanked the Chairman for the cordial relationship existing between him and the Councillors. He noted that the Councillors carefully went through the budget to ensure that it captured the need of their people before the passage into law.

Breakdown of the approved budget estimate are Total Revenue; #3, 059, 512, 374. 92 personal cost; #1, 197, 217, 111. 53 Overhead and other recurrent costs; #444, 851, 945. 46
Total recurrent expenditure, #1, 642, 069, 056. 98 Total capital expenditure #1, 417, 443, 317. 94
Total Proposed Expenditure is #3, 059, 512, 374.92
Recall that the Ikwo Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Barr. Sunday Basil Nwankwo had earlier  presented the 2023 Appropriation Bill of three billion fifty nine million five hundred and twelve thousand three hundred and seventy four naira ninety two kobo (3,059,512,374.92) to the Ikwo Legislative Council for their consideration and approval.

The Executive chairman in his speech during the  budget presentation said the robust relationship existing between the executive and the legislatures was an act of kindness and love.

The Chairman at the presentation, explained that the budget was tagged THE BUDGET OF LEGACY because it is meant to create living legacy, empowerment, and execute projects that will be of benefits to the good people of Ikwo LGA.
