2023; Failure Awaits Opposition Parties In Ebonyi - APC Boss, Emegha

The Ebonyi state chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC),  Chief. Stanley Okoro Emegha says the opposition parties are behind the burning of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in the state due to their imminent failure in the year's general elections.

Chief Emegha who stated this on Monday while speaking to newsmen in Abakaliki noted that their swift response to the inferno is akin to the guilty exonerating self before being questioned.

"The opposition political parties who are marauding under the cloak of unidentified hoodlums carried out the inglorious act. They could not even waiting for an official statement from an authorized body before flooding the media space with their empty releases. What a wrong way of politicking".

"Their greatest nightmare now is the massive defection hitting their political walls. They are already dead. They cannot distort the forthcoming elections because of their imminent and abysmal failure. In our state, Ebonyi,  evil has never and cannot prevail over righteousness".

"I therefore charge the security agencies especially the Nigeria Police Force to bring the culprits to book because destruction of public facilities or National asset constitutes an infringement under our law".

"Why should they set ablaze the INEC office at Iboko the headquarters of Izzi Local government area. We know the game they are playing. Remember that our Governorship candidate Chief Francis Nwifuru hails from the area. This act of foolish cannot stop their total failure in the elections".

Although no casualties were recorded from the attack, the main building and all the movable and immovable items inside as gathered were destroyed.

These include 340 ballot boxes, 130 voting cubicles, 14 electric power generators, large water storage tanks, assorted office furniture and fixtures and yet to be determined quantities of Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs).
