Dr. Nkwegu described the incident as wickedness and injurious to both people of the state and the opposition party.
According to him it is disheartening and wrong for suspected armed agent of Ebonyi state government to deny opposition party from reaching out its supporters across the state.
Dr. Nkwegu also condemned the, abduction, illegal torture of the Ebonyi south Senatorial candidate of labour party , Hon. Linus Okorie and frivolous allegations against him by the agent of Ebonyi state government.
He said it is fortunate that Ebonyi state which is known for peaceful co-existence has turned to a state of abduction, killings , intimidation, war and a place where injustice thrive.
'' ln a democracy or electoral process, people freely make their choice of candidates they will vote in elections and not through violence and intimidation''.

He appealed to Federal government and other relevant agencies to intervene.
Dr Nkwegu enjoined the founding fathers not to allow, selfish, and desperate individuals who hate peace and harmony to destroy the core values of Ebonyi state over politics
On the rumours of been arrested , Dr Edward Nkwegu called on labour party supporters to disregard such report stressing that it is false, mischievous and unfounded .
'' iam a peaceful man, I have no problem with anybody, my movement to Labour Party is divine and l will win next year's Governorship election.''
