The Executive Chairman of Afikpo North Local Government Area, Hon. Uche Ibiam, in his determination to have a responsive Ebubeagu Security Outfit in Afikpo,
recently had a special interactive meeting with members of the outfit, to fashion out a more robust way of complementing activities that would guarantee Law and Order in the area.
The meeting which was held at the Council Headquarters, Afikpo also witnessed the presence of the State Commander of Ebubeagu Security Outfit, Mr. Friday Nnanna Ujor; the 5 Coordinators of Development Centres in Afikpo North LGA; Leader of the Council, Hon. Egwu Abagha and his Deputy, Barr. Denis Enyinnia Eni, among other Councilors.
Hon. Uche Ibiam, applauded the Chairman, South East Governors' Forum and Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Nweze Umahi, FNSE,FNATE,CON, for his thoughtfulness in initiating the establishment of the Regional Security Outfit, and expressed satisfaction that they have done well so far in justifying their existence.
The Council Boss, who further noted that security of lives and property is the primary duty of every Government, gave the assurance that his administration will give priority to the sector in the Council Area.
He called for synergy between Security Agencies in the Area and the Ebubeagu Security Outfit in order to successfully wage war against insecurity, crimes and criminalities.
Hon. Uche Ibiam, advised members of Ebubeagu Security Outfit to rededicate themselves to duty and shun overzealousness, indolence and sharp practices, as his administration will not tolerate such.
He promised to repair their official vehicle as well as provide them with a more comfortable office accommodation within the Council Headquarters to boost their official activities.
Addressing members of the outfit, the Ebonyi State Commander of Ebubeagu Security Outfit, Mr. Friday Nnanna Ujor, commended Afikpo North Council Chairman, for the timely meeting and enjoined members of Ebubeagu Security Outfit in Afikpo to work closely with the Police and other sister security agencies to ensure that no person or group of persons succeeds in destabilizing the peace enjoyed by the people of Afikpo North Local Government Area.
In a vote of thanks, the new Commander of Ebubeagu Security Outfit, Afikpo North LGA Commend, Mr. Ibiam Ogbonna and his Deputy, Mr. Urom Michael Agha, thanked the Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Nweze Umahi;the Council Chairman, Hon Uche Ibiam and the State Commander for their positive disposition towards the issue of Security and promised that they would do their best in ensuring effective security of lives and property in the Area.
As at the time of filing this report, the Executive Chairman of Afikpo North Local Government Area, Hon Uche Ibiam has fulfilled his promise of providing a befitting office accommodation for the members of Ebubeagu Security Outfit and have also repaired their official vehicle as a way of boosting their morale and operations.
