Ebonyi State Govt Dissolves Leadership of Tipper Driver's Union

State authorities on Wednesday, dissolved the Executive of Ebonyi State Tipper driver's Union, following a protracted leadership tussle and other Internal wrangling bedeviling the union in the state.

In a meeting jointly hosted by the special security Consultant to Ebonyi State Government, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on legal services and Conflict resolution, Barr Emeka Nwode and the special Assistant on parks and transport, Barr Uchenna Otu, with the leadership of the union in the office of the special security consultant, deliberated on the issues and the resultant security threat to the peace and stability of the state. After kin and extensive deliberations on the issues, the authorities came up with the following resolutions:
SSA, Legal Service And Conflict Resolution, Barr Emeka Nwode

"That the state leadership of Tipper driver's Union under the Chairmanship of Mr Chetachukwu Nkemdirim aka (sallad) stands dissolved.

"That members of the union are given one week to fully comply with the Government operating fees approved since 2021.

"That the unit heads of the union are hereby empowered to carry out the activities of union in their various units and ensure the remitance of the operating fees to the state Government internally generated revenue account and make available evidence of payment to the office of SA on parks and transport.

"That the usual collection of union fees in the park is suspended for one week until the issues are completely addressed.

"And that the meeting will reconvene on Wednesday, 7th of September, 2022 to continue with the issue and possibly, come up with the final resolution.

"That any of the parties that violate any of the resolution above or course any breach of peace in the park or any part of the state will be arrested and adequately, prosecuted".

Members of the union expressed satisfaction with the manner the matter is been handled and pledged their continued support to the Government of Engr David Umahi and will always respect and abide by the decision of the state Government.
