Ebonyi LG Polls; APC Chair Hopes For Credible, Peaceful Conduct

Ahead of the July 30th Local Government Area election in Ebonyi state, the state Chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha has raised hope of transparent, credible, free and fair and peaceful election in the state.
 

Chief Emegha revealed this shortly after receiving  a chairmanship aspirant in the forthcoming Council Elections from Afikpo South, Prince Chima Ekumankana who came to the party's Secretariat to submit his forms. 


The Chairman noted that the All Progressives Congress APC enjoys wide acceptability, in Ebonyi State, owing to the fact that over 39 persons have purchased the expression of interest and nomination forms to contest the chairmanship positions in their respective local government areas. 

Emegha who revealed that his party will be holding its primaries between 22nd and 23rd of this month noted that only credible candidates will emerge as standard bearers, stressing that it will make the general council elections in the state a walkover for them. 

"Although Ebonyi state has 13 Local Government Areas, 39 persons have purchased forms to contest the chairmanship position in their various areas. This goes to show that there is strong affinity between the People of Ebonyi and APC as the leading political party in Nigeria". 

"From every indication, this Local Government Elections is going to be the most peaceful, transparent, free and fair exercise ever witnessed because every political party will participate and whosoever the masses choose will win, be it APC, PDP, APGA or Labour Party". 

"Going by this we are only fielding candidates whose enviable credentials are in the public domain so that the electorate can judge right without persuasions not minding that APC is the ruling party generally accepted by the people".

Meanwhile, the APC Chairmanship aspirant from Afikpo south Local Government Area, Mr Chima Ekumankama promised to deepen the developmental trajectory of Governor David Umahi if elected by promoting the cause of peace, unity and progress among the people. 

The aspirant Mr Chima Ekumankama was accompanied by a mammoth crowd drawn from the 11 wards that make up the council area irrespective of political affiliations.
