Dusk to Dawn Curfew In Sokoto As Riot Rages

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state on Saturday, pronounced dusk to dawn curfew in Sokoto metropolis, following the violent rioting in area.

The angry rioters are demanding for the Sultanet council to retract its condemnation of the k!lling of Deborah Samuel, a two hundred student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Who was stoned and burnt to death by her fellow students over an allegation of blasphemy.

The rioters are also demanding for the release of the arrested suspects.

This is following a wide Friday sermons by some Islamic scholars who tactically endorse the mob and demand for the release of those arrested by Nigerian police.

The rampaging lslamic estrimists have destroyed properties including the pastorial center Sokoto, housing the 'prolific' Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Bishop Matthew Hassan Kuka. 

Vehicles, building Belong to the church were seen on flame while shops and other properties were equally destroyed.
